Facilitator Collective

Leadership Acadamy
The Facilitator Collective is a core group of leaders cultivating brotherhood and deepening our skills in service to the Stories of Men community.
WHY: It takes a community to host our Stories of Men events. During each event, we break into small groups of 4-5 men per group with one skilled facilitator in each. These breakout groups are an intimate container for personal and collective learning and transformation.
Participation in each Stories of Men event is capped so that there are no more than 4 participants per facilitator. As we grow the Facilitator Collective, over time, we expand our capacity to reach men who are ready to join us. This is why the Facilitator Collective is so important!
WHAT: Stories of Men gatherings are 90 minutes long. Each event begins with a welcome and overview, community agreements, and an introduction to the theme of the night. We then break into small groups (of 4-5 men each) to engage in storytelling, story-listening, and emergent learning. Finally, we come back together to reflect on the experience and explore opportunities to engage more deeply.
Stories of Men is made possible by a growing group of skilled facilitators who are trained to hold courageous space for participants throughout the experience. We call ourselves the Facilitator Collective. There is one facilitator for every 3-5 participants, allowing for intimacy and support in our small-group format.
WHO: We are looking for skilled facilitators, men’s work practitioners, therapists, and coaches, who are passionate about being of service to other men in a transformational learning environment. Membership in the Facilitator Collective is by application only. Any qualifying participant in a Stories of Men event is invited to apply. The application process is open to individuals who identify as male, inclusive of all backgrounds and identities. Ages 18 and older.
ENGAGEMENT: Facilitator Collective members commit to serving for at least one month (many stay on to serve ongoingly). There is no cost to join the Facilitator Collective; this is a volunteer position. As a member, you are asked to participate in the following activities:
INCLUSIVENESS: We seek to create spaces in which all male-identifying people feel a sense of belonging and brotherhood. We believe: #BlackLivesMatter and we are committed to cultivating antiracism and racial justice in the Stories of Men community. We invite any man who is interested in joining the Facilitator Collective – and has completed at least 1 Stories of Men event – to submit your application. We especially encourage Men of Color and GBTQ individuals to apply to join us.
HOW TO APPLY: The application link and information is shared with Stories of Men participants after each event. Looking forward to seeing you there!
